23.09.22 - A Dead Man’s Dreams is performed by Nick Makin at St John’s Theatre Listowel.

04.07.22 - We didn’t escape unscathed - covid delayed opening night and resulted in a change of director. I Poured the Tea ran 4th -16th July 2022 under the expert direction of Casey Hallahan. It exceeded our wildest dreams - we played to 650 people, sold out twice and gained 3 standing ovations!

25.05.22 - Nick Makin’s latest work A Dead Man’s Dreams receives a rehearsed reading to Philip Lee staff and the Australian Ambassador Gary Gray. Enthusiastic laughter and applause!

Facing his last days in the confines of the Illawarra Home for the Aged renown Australian artist Barney struggles to complete his final work and leave a meaningful inheritance for his children. Not all goes to plan however as family and the grim reaper intervene in this tragically comic look at art and the artistic process, family relationships and mortality.

05.10.21 - Tickets go on sale at Smock Alley for I Poured the Tea

29.03.21 - Delighted to announce that I Poured the Tea opens for its world premiere in the Smock Alley Boys’ School 24 January 2022 and will run until 5 February 2022. Jae O’Connor will direct. More details to follow!

27.05.20 - Nick Makin’s new work Maxwell’s (a bit tarnished) Silver Hammer receives a reading.

Yoko Ono lies in a pool of blood whilst Mal Evans and Neil Aspinall look on – determining if they have been active participants or if they are there to solve the murder in this fast moving comedy of power and Beatlemania.

Join Mal and Neil as they explore the relationships between character, role, audience and author.  Witness as the distinction between performance and reality becomes blurred – challenging theatrical form and convention.

Both characters have an overpowering feeling that it will not work out well.  In the end of course “the love you take is equal to the love you make.”

29.01.20 - The Devil and Durex a new work by Nick Makin receives a reading.

The 1970’s and the sexual revolution reaches Ireland – the women are empowered and the men are nervous!  In a small rural parish follow the lengths the men will go to retain their power and the status quo in this bizarre comedy of inverted roles and expectations.

This is Nick Makin’s follow up work to I Poured the Tea and will shortly receive its first reading.
